Originally a fishing lodge; the Sandhouse Hotel has been transformed into a gracious and tastefully appointed four star; Grade A hotel. Most of the antique filled rooms enjoy breathtaking views of Donegal Bay and the hotel has access to the beautiful Rossnawlagh beach.

Local Attractions
Rossnowlagh is one of Ireland's finest beaches where Atlantic waves break onto golden sand. A EU blue flag beach it is popular with swimmers and surfers. The highest cliff face in Europe can be found at Slieve League and is best seen at sunset when the rock face shimmers with changing shades of red. Inland from Rossnowlagh is the wild but beautiful Glenveagh National Park. Covering 25;000 acres the park has stunning mountain scenery; dramatic valleys and cliffs. Within the park; Glenveagh Castle stands on the shore of Lake Veagh and visitors can have a guided tour of the castle and stroll through the formal gardens and wooded trails. The heather clad headland of Horn Head gives lovely views out to sea and inland towards the mountains and at Dunfanaghy the local beach Killahoey Strand offers excellent swimming.
