CJ's Restaurant offers fine cuisine in relaxed and elegant surroundings. There is also the Boardwalk Cafe which serves snack meals and a carvery lunch. Local Attractions
There is a thriving tourist industry in Carrick-on-Shannon; due in no small part to its proximity to the River Shannon. The town has a colourful modern marina which has berths for private launches and also offers boats for hire. The nearby Shannon-Erne waterway begins 6 km north in Leitrim has been fully restored. Visitors can enjoy the Victorian spendour of the canal with its many bridges and locks. Away from the marina the town has a fine mix of Georgian houses and 19th century churches and convents. Costello Chapel on Bridge Street was built in 1877 and is the smallest of its kind in the world. Further afield is the vast Lough Ryan Estate with a baronial style house; ornamental gardens; lush woodland and the remains of a neolithic burial site.
