Area Description
The Cill Aodain hotel is situated in the heart of historic Kiltimagh, a typical rural artisan village nestled in the heart of County Mayo. Kiltimagh offers visitors a variety of activities, including the Sculpture Park, Artist's Retreat, village museum and children's fun park. It is also only ten minutes drive from Knock Marian Shrine, one of Europe's foremost shrines. Horse riding, fishing, golf and mapped walking routes are all close by.

Local Attractions
There are many sights and attractions in and around the hotel. Places of interest include the Victorian Cathedral of St Muredach, the dolmen of the four Maols and Lough Conn. A short drive along the coast will take you to Achill Island. This is Irelands largest offshore island and has five European blue flag beach awards, magnificent cliff scenery, long sandy beaches and a wealth of historical monuments. Nearby is the town of Westport with its wide tree lined streets and lievely pubs and cafes. At the head of Clew Bay stands Westport House built on the site of an O'Malley castle. It has a very imposing interior adorned with family portraits, antique furniture and Waterford chandeliers. The estate also features a boating lake, miniature railway, children's zoo and several shops. Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain is one of County Mayo's premier landmarks and it is a two hour climb to the top.
