Wildlife Parks at Co. Cork > View Cork articles
Co. Cork, Ireland is a host to a wide variety of excellent wildlife display. Venture into your wild side and consider making a trip to these parks. The experience that awaits the tourists along this area is of paramount significance in making their vacation a truly incredible one.

The only way to know what lies ahead at the Doneraile Wildlife Park is to actually visit it. This park’s vast area coverage of approximately 166 hectares is covered with full-grown deciduous trees, stunning landscape, excellently reinstated water features. Tourists can also enjoy the sight of some deer along the park. They are kept together and raised perfectly for tourists to enjoy.

What cuts the Doneraile Park above the usual wildlife squares is its stunning landscape. Visitors will not even think that the hands behind this exceptional background are merely of human and not of Mother Nature. Thanks to architect Lancelot “Capability” Brown for his outstanding product of illusion of an 18th century park. This park is open daily which indicates a whole week of wildlife adventure for the whole family.

The real “wild adventure” begins at Cobh road to Fota Wildlife Park. This park has a large number of animal species which visitors can view and mingle with. It has species literally from A to Z – from Apes to Zebras. This park was opened under three functions: conservation, education and research. Visitors will definitely enjoy the Awacachi Tour Train. Kids will be kept in one place – the Park’s playground.

If you are planning to take a tour at Fota Wildlife Park, expect for some of these animals to welcome you: primate Apes, Gibbon, European Bison, the long legged and swift moving Cheetah, Capybara, swift running Emu, webbed feet Flamingo, Guanaco, long legged Giraffe, Kangaroo, different species of monkey, Bats, Ostrich, Pelicans, Lemurs and much more other endangered species. Some of these animals are almost in the verge of extinction but thanks to the breeding effort of Fota Wildlife Park, the future generation will still get to see them.

Making a great escape is something that needs more than a place to stay; it should be a place to explore. The Wildlife parks of Co. Cork are one of the few sites that tourists should not fail to visit. These parks represent a part of the county’s ecological wealth.
