The Fota Island Golf Club is also within a few minutes drive from Cork, and stands out with pristine resort facilities and golf course situated on a 780 acre estate amongst picturesque woodlands and fine undulating greens and fairways. This was designed by Irish pro golfer Christy O'Connor, Jr. and English pro golfer Peter McEvoy. The course is host to a number of professional tournaments, such as the Irish Club Professional Championship and the Irish PGA Championship in addition to Irish Amateur Opens.

County Cork is host to at least another 18 golf courses further afield including East Cork, Yughai, Fermoy, Mitchelstown, Charlesville, Doneraile, Mallow, Ballinamona, Kanturk, Macroom, Bandon, Old Head, Dunmore, Skibereen, Coosheen, Glengariff, Berehaven, and Bantry Bay golf clubs.

Bantry Bay Golf Club is a world class course located on the shores of the beautiful Bantry Bay. Bantry Bay Golf Club was founded in 1975, and is a well kept challenging course which also has excellent modern facilities, and is noted for its friendly staff.

Both Fota Island, and Bantry Bay golf clubs attract a large number of international players and guests who demand the highest quality in course and facilities. However for the weekend hackers and those who prefer more basic facilities, County Cork offers a number of other courses catering for all budgets and skill levels.
