Suggestively, begin your walking extravaganza at the lovely O’Briens Bridge. Take some time to pause and appreciate the beauty of the surrounding as you cross the river. From here, your next destination can be the city of Claddagh. The city is a small fishing village from which the well known Claddagh ring originated.
As you come nearer to Salthill, you will surely fall in love with the vast area of seaside resorts. Being the top tourist attraction in West Ireland, Salthill promises a wide variety of historical and picturesque sites. On top of the roll is the well-visited Atlantiquarium, the National Aquarium of Ireland. As the name suggests, it is here where you can view comprehensively the great wonders of the Atlantic and all its aquatic animals inside a giant aquarium.
Then you can advance on the Seapoint Leisure Centre. On your way, you will most probably meet a number of walkers too. You can stop by for a few games of casino for adults and video games, simulation games, snookers, pool for the youth and children’s rides for your kids.
You may take the route to Silver Strand beach passing by the Blackrock, the Galway Golf Course and the Rusheen Bay. You will notice people kicking the wall at the end of the Blackrock as a form of local amusement. Check out the Galway Golf Course and you might be tempted to stay a little bit longer for a game of golf, after all, Ireland is well known for this sport. Surely to catch your attention are the windsurfers at Rusheen Bay and who knows, you might as well give it a try too. Then you reach Silver Strand - a safe, shallow and sandy beach perfect for families with young members. There is a wide area of boardwalk where you can stroll and marvel at the excellent view of Galway Bay especially during sunsets.
You may continue your walking trip through the Terryland Forest Park. Tracking along the wood trails, looking at the rivers are fabulous ways of getting closer to the nature and admiring its beauty. You just don’t know what will attract you while you walk along Galway, you just have to follow your senses and let it lead your way.
