Sea anglers are also given their fill in Co. Galway most particularly from the month of May to October. Varied species are available in the sea. The Aran Islands, Roundstone and Clifden offer anglers with the blue shark and at times, porbeagle wanders in the sea.
The Loughrea Lake is still one of the excellent spots to splurge an angling activity in Co. Galway. It has a wealth of trout, perch and pike. Its surrounding rivers add more angling appeal to the lake. Anglers can have a load of trout and salmon in bordering rivers like the Bullaun River and Kilcolgan River. The perfect catch is here is that fishing on these rivers will not cost you anything.
The Oughterard is a must-visit spot for anglers, as well. Its location on the shores of the Lough Corrib makes it a perfect setting for trout and salmon fishing. Sea trout is also abundant in Lough Carrafinla. Furthermore, brown trout also abide in the Letterfrack Lough, adding it to the list of angling destinations in Galway.
