Co. Cork - Your Angling Destination > View Cork articles
Angling sport is a popular activity in Ireland both for locals and tourists alike. It seems that everyone is beginning to make a hook and a line part of an Irish spirit. There are a number of great angling destinations in Ireland and one of them is Co. Cork. This county has lured numerous tourists to re-visit and savor more of its angling temptation.

The road that leads to the River Ilen in Skibbereen must be taken by angling enthusiasts. This river is of medium size and it shelters a great deal of salmons. The bordering scenery exudes the natural charm of the place. This river in West Cork is oftentimes visited not only for its angling offer but also for its spectacular view. Salmon season starts at February and declines in the month of September. While the month of October gives way to Sea Trout fishing.

River Ilen has maintained its clean water and surrounding in spite of its many visitors. Tourists have the option on fishing methods they prefer. Usually spinning and worming is commonly utilized for salmon angling.

The Beara Peninsula is the getaway destination of shore anglers. Venues for shore angling are well designated with sign posts, so there is no worry about getting there. June to September is the excellent months to plan an angling activity in this area. The other months are still a good time to indulge in this activity though.

Heading your way to Kinsale, you can fulfill your sea angling desire at the Castlepark Marina. The Old head of Kinsale is a perfect spot for a truly rewarding angling action. The historic forts that add to the appeal of the place make this spot an obvious choice while at Kinsale. This place is barely 14 miles away from Cork Airport.

Kinsale itself is a popular angling destination among Co. Cork’s tourists. It offers the best setting for a thrilling activity on the south west coast of Ireland. Aside from Kinsale, Mallow (22 miles north of Cork City) is also an angling center.

Co. Cork offers its guests with nothing but the best setting for a true Celtic angling experience. Missing these spots as you indulge in an angling adventure is a forever guilt and regret. The rivers are the prettiest and the catch is the wealthiest here.
